Man v Fat is a practical and supportive resource for men, written by a normal bloke who just wanted to lose some weight. One day Andrew Shanahan took a guttie to text to a mate. But once he had taken the photo, he couldn't stop looking at it. He realised how unhappy he was about his body and resolved to change it. However he soon learned that the dieting industry had turned its back on men. Men were expected to get fit, tone up and turn fat into a six-pack in six weeks. There was nothing for men who simply wanted to lose their beer belly, play football again and feel more confident. So Andrew decided to do something about this. In Man v Fat, Andrew Shanahan will give you everything you need to know in order to lose weight, breaking it down into three essential components: Stage 1: Understand why you got fat Stage 2: Learn how to lose weight Stage 3: Create a winning structure Man v Fat is not a diet book or a commercial diet plan. It will explain (and myth-bust) the various diets available, so you can choose the one that will work best for you - or even create your own. It will help you to supercharge your motivation, set specific goals and teach you how to track and review them, identify threats and create a support network, and of course troubleshoot common hurdles. There are plans to get you walking, running or cycling (optional activity) or make the most of obligatory activity. Plus a perfect week plan and perfect month plan to get you started. In the battle of man against fat, this book is your ultimate weapon.

Dr Jayne Sayers “What Rocks Your World is a vibrant book that stands out clearly from other books in this market. It has a lively and accessible style that is easy to pick up and engage with. I can readily see undergraduate students finding this book as useful as A-level students will, with its particular focus on the individual and aiming for them to look at themselves. The interactive Twitter challenges give the book an edge of reader-friendly interaction while allowing them to engage in reflection as well as the public expression of their thoughts and ideas – something that they must prepare to do if going to Higher Education Institutions and Universities. One particular strength of this book is that it focuses on enjoyment – students are often placed on the treadmills of 'personal and professional development' and 'portfolio development' while in Further and Higher education – and the emphasis of this book is clearly to get young people to think about what they enjoy, their own talents and what they are good at. The message here is clearly that if the reader thinks about it and reflects on their own life, 'business can be their pleasure, and pleasure can be their business'. I would be happy to see my undergraduate students reading this book as it may open their eyes to many more career paths than they may think they have.” Professor Craig JacksonProfessor of Occupational Health Psychology

This carefully crafted ebook: "The Ring and the Book (Unabridged)" is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents. The Ring and the Book is a long dramatic narrative poem, and, more specifically, a verse novel, of 21,000 lines, written by Robert Browning. It was published in four volumes from 1868 to 1869 by Smith, Elder & Co. The book tells the story of a murder trial in Rome in 1698, whereby an impoverished nobleman, Count Guido Franceschini, is found guilty of the murders of his young wife Pompilia Comparini and her parents, having suspected his wife was having an affair with a young cleric, Giuseppe Caponsacchi. Having been found guilty despite his protests and sentenced to death, Franceschini then appeals—unsuccessfully—to Pope Innocent XII to overturn the conviction. The poem comprises twelve books, nine of which are dramatic monologues spoken by a different narrator involved in the case (Count Guido speaks twice), usually giving a different account of the same events, and two books (the first and the last) spoken by the author. Robert Browning (7 May 1812 – 12 December 1889) was an English poet and playwright whose mastery of dramatic verse, especially dramatic monologues, made him one of the foremost Victorian poets.
